Flat Stanley went out with us to observe our family errands on a Sunday afternoon

Flat Stanley arrived at our house on a hot humid Friday. His Envelope of Manilla was folded in a U shape and stuffed into our mailbox. Welcome to Baltimore Mr. Stanley.

We opened it to let Stanley out and show him our house. He seemed very relaxed and his suit looked as if it had just been ironed. We were impressed with his neatness. We decided the best thing to do was offer Stanley some food.

Stanley met the whole family while eating some crackers and cheese; Brendan (dad) Anastasia (mom) and Quinn (son). We explained to Stanley we would like to take him on errands on Sunday and until then he was free to wander the streets of Baltimore as a tourist. Stanley turned on the local nightly news to see what was happening in Baltimore. After watching it for five minutes he decided to stay at home with us.

Stanley mostly helped us with our garden and talked to neighbors, on Saturday he went out to get bagels and coffee. Everyone in our neighborhood agreed that Stanley was flat in stature but very round and big with friendliness.

On Sunday morning we had to go to three places. The first place was a group of people meeting at a hotel; they met there to talk about a really cool space monster that helped them figure out how to be nice to each other. We met them in order to pick up a toy for our son Quinn. We got a fun red wagon for Quinn and a free book about space monsters from some guy named Dirk. We gave the book to Stanley.

After that we went to a huge giant stadium sized warehouse called the Dome Heapo. We had to go there to get some paint for our back porch. Its important to paint the porch before winter comes so it can stay nice and dry under all the wet snow. Flat Stanley made a friend in the Dome Heapo but we never found out his friends name since he did a lot of talking.

Our last errand was to another big warehouse store called Ye Old Gravy. We went there to find some new clothes for everyone in the family. We mostly ended up buying socks because everyone in our house likes socks. We tried to find Stanley some clothes too but nothing would fit him.

Stanley was impressed with Magic Mike the Manikin and his ability to stand on one leg

It was a very long day of errands but Stanley made us all laugh and enjoy it. We took him home and gave him rides in the cart from the space monster people at the hotel. What fun!
